Mr. and Mrs. James H. Boyette IV of Suffolk announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Elizabeth, to Brandon Michael McMahan.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Michael McMahan of Zuni.

Julie is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alton Fowler, who lived in Suffolk, and the paternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abernathy of Suffolk, and the late James H. Boyette Jr.

Brandon is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Wyant of Portsmouth, and the paternal grandson of Mrs. Dorothy McMahan of Virginia Beach, and the late Benjamin McMahan.

Miss Boyette is a graduate of Lakeland High School, class of 2000, and a graduate of Louise Obici School of Nursing, class of 2003. She is employed by Obici Hospital of Suffolk.

Mr. McMahan is a graduate of Southampton High School, class of 1997, and a graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College, class of 1999. He is employed by Verizon of Hampton.

The wedding will take place Saturday, Nov. 1, in Bethlehem Christian Church in Suffolk.
