Alor Ray Lassiter

Alor Ray Lassiter, 75, passed away July 11, 2003, at his residence. He was a native of Chowan County, N.C. He was the son of the late John Lee Lassiter and Jennie Hollowell Lassiter. He was predeceased by his sister, Janie Lassiter and his brother John Wilburn Lassiter.

He served in the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division where he served on the Military Police Company. He retired from J.W. Lassiter, Inc. after 32 years. He was a member of Suffolk Masonic Lodge #30 and a past master of Hiram Lodge #340. He was a member of Elephants Fork Ruritan Club. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lucille Lewis Lassiter; daughters, Patricia L. Springer; and Linda L. Wilkins and her husband Norman E. Wilkins Jr.; granddaughter Brittany L. Wilkins and grandson Matt Springer; sister, Minnie L. Robertson, all of Suffolk; and brother, James A. Lassiter of Florence, S.C.; and many special friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11a.m., Tuesday, July 15, at Bethlehem Christian Church with the Rev. Jonathan Palmer officiating the service. Burial will be at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Friends may also join the family at Parr Funeral Home Monday night from 7-8 p.m. and other times at the residence.
