Mrs. Annie S. Edwards, 85, Jersey City, N.J., died July 9, 2003, in a hospital in New Jersey.

She was a native of Nansemond County and was the daughter of the late John Kindred and Maggie Wilson Kindred. She was the widow of the late Ernest Edwards Sr.

Her survivors include two sons, Ernest Edwards Jr. and Johnnie Edwards; three daughters, Maggie Graves, Katie Gadson and Sarah Grant; two sisters, Florence Kindred and Geneva Darden; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Monday, 1 p.m., July 14, in Crocker Funeral Home Chapel by Bishop John Kindred. Interment will be held in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
