Charity Strothers named pageant finalist

Charity Brittany Strothers, 13, daughter of Dwayne and Angie Strothers, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Virginia Pageant, which will be held Aug. 27 – 30 at the Sheraton in Richmond. The pageant is for girls 4 through 18.

The pageant winner will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California.

Miss Strothers’ activities include basketball, modeling, public speaking, picture taking, debating, volunteering, and writing. She also enjoys listening to music, dancing, spending time with her cousin, Lance Corporal Troy Butler, and sister, Hope Strothers.
