The marriage of Melinda Ann Mottley and Joseph Nimmo Webb Jr. took place at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Manteo, N.C.

The Rev. H. Vance Mann and the Rev. George D. Speake performed the ceremony.

Following the ceremony the bride and groom escorted the wedding guests from the church to a reception and dance at 108 Budleigh in Manteo.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry D. Mottley Sr. of Suffolk.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Webb Sr. of Suffolk.

The bride is the maternal granddaughter of Mrs. Eula Juenemann of Oberlin, Kan., and the paternal granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Clewiston, Fla.

The groom is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Bailey Sr. of Suffolk, and the paternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Webb Sr. of Suffolk.

The bride and groom were presented to be married to each other by their parents.

Mrs. Amanda Rowe, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor.

Kate Mosher of Christiansburg, Mrs. Lauren Dakin of Dallas, Texas; and Mrs. Erin Whitty of Weston, Conn., friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids.

Joseph N. Webb Sr. of Suffolk, father of the groom, served as best man.

Jack W. Webb III of Raleigh, N.C., cousin of the groom, and Jarratt B. Webb and Jordan C. Webb of Suffolk, brother of the groom, served as groomsmen.

Mistress of ceremonies was Mrs. Marion Cole of Stephenville, Texas.

Terry D. Mottley Jr. and Mrs. Michele Mottley of Suffolk, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, were readers.

Chris Johnson of Windsor, was organist.

Mr. and Mrs. Webb honeymooned in St. Lucia, and reside in the Olde Towne section of Portsmouth.
