The city’s municipal building was evacuated around 3 p.m. Wednesday after an air-conditioning pipe broke, emitting nearly approximately 40 pounds of Freon into the air. Employees were outside for nearly 45 minutes. The incident led to the cancellation of the Suffolk City Council’s 4 p.m. work session.
