Det Winslow, Clint Ellis wed in Hillcrest Baptist

The marriage of Det Rae Winslow and Dennie Clinton Ellis Jr. took place at noon Saturday, July 26, in Hillcrest Baptist Church, Holland Road.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Randy Brock Club House on Manning Road.

The Rev. Douglas Gibson performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh A. West and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Winslow of Suffolk.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennie Clinton Ellis Sr. of Suffolk.

The bride is the maternal granddaughter of the late Melvin and Ruth Forehand, who lived in Suffolk. She is the paternal granddaughter of Myrtle Copeland Winslow of Gatesville, N.C., and the late E.O. Winslow.

The groom is the maternal grandson of Clara Gardner Davis of Haines City, Fla., and the late James J. Gardner. He is the paternal grandson of Bobbie Ellis Blowe of Suffolk, and the late Clinton Lee Ellis.

The bride’s sister, Janice Ellis, was matron of honor.

The bridesmaids were Stephanie King, sister of the bride; Kasey Brown and Leslie Yeager, friends of the bride; and Kimberly Ellis, sister of the groom.

The junior bridesmaid was Chelsea Ellis, niece of the bride.

The flower girls were Kayce King and Holly Ann Ellis, nieces of the bride.

The groom’s father, Dennie Clinton Ellis Sr., was best man.

The groomsmen were Mike Sheline, Joseph Brown and David James Moose Jr.

The ring bearer was Dillon Lloyd Vernon, son of the bride.

Guest book attendant was Morgan Yeager of Suffolk.

Soloist was Luke Willett.

Mistress of ceremonies was Carolyn F. Bunch, aunt of the bride.

After their honeymoon to the mountains of Virginia, the couple will reside in Suffolk.
