Mrs. Bertha C. Collins, 79, of 239 North 5th St., Suffolk, died Aug. 28, 2003 in Autumn Care, Suffolk.

She was a native of Drum Hill, N.C. She was the widow of Brownie Collins. She was the daughter of the late Hilton Cross and Linda L. Cross.

She retired from domestic work.

Survivors include four sisters, Martha C. Beamon of Suffolk and Bernice Wiggins (Rev. David), Ida Rountree (Rev. Johnnie) and Mary Louise Jones (George), all of Drum Hill, N.C., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. in Crocker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David Wiggins. Interment will be held in New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Drum Hill, N.C.
