Thomas Melvin &uot;Duck&uot; Pope Jr., 51, of Fort Washington, Md., died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, in Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in Shiloh Baptist Church, Newsoms, with the Rev. Dennis Whitfield officiating.

Viewing begins 1 p.m. Wednesday in Engram Funeral Home, Courtland, and visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.

The body will be taken to the church from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the day of the service.

Wyatt and Sons Funeral Home Inc., Suffolk, is in charge of arrangements.
