Colonial Farm Credit broke ground for its new branch office in Windsor on Sept. 16.

The 6,500-square-foot brick building will be located on U.S. Route 460, near the entrance to the Hidden Acres subdivision, is scheduled to open in May 2004. The building will include a meeting room and kitchen that will be available for community use.

Dick Carter of Colonial Farm Credit’s Suffolk branch has been named manager of the Windsor location. Ruth Casey will be office manager. A team of nine employees will be assigned to that office.

Del. William K. Barlow of Smithfield and Rick Franklin, a district field representative for U.S. Rep. Randy Forbes, attended the ceremony.

Windsor Mayor Marvin Crocker Jr., Councilman Cecil Ely, Town Manager Kurt Falkenstein and the Zoning Administrator James Randolph were also on hand for the groundbreaking.
