Greg Hunt shot a 68 (-2) to finish one of the most domineering performances in recent memory at the Eastern Regional championships Tuesday at Kempsville Golf Course in Virginia Beach. The Nansemond River junior, who shot a 67 (-4) at Portsmouth’s Bide-A-Wee on Monday, won the regional championship by seven strokes over Nick Combs of Menchville High School.

Hunt, who won the Southeast-ern district title on Oct. 1, now heads to state competition, which begins Oct. 15 in Bluemont.

River’s Jonathan Faw qualified for state competition for the second consecutive year, finishing the regional at 149 to take seventh place.
