Girl Scout golf tournament set

Regina Mobley will serve as mistress of ceremonies at the eighth annual Girl Scout Golf Tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the Nansemond River Golf Club off Godwin Blvd.

This event is being sponsored by The Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast.

Mobley is a local news anchor on WVEC-TV Channel 13 .

The tournament is a four-player Florida Best Ball where there is a first and second in each flight, contests and prizes are also included.

The cost is $125 a player or $500 a foursome. Sponsorship opportunities are available as well.

Registration fees include a golf cart rental and greens fee, on-course refreshments, goodie bag, commemorative gift, plaque to winners, door prizes, silent auction, and photo. Over the past seven years, proceeds from the tournament, totaling about $92,000, have been used to make Girl Scouting available to girls who otherwise could not afford to participate.
