Betty Jean Steward of Suffolk announces the engagement of her daughter, La’Tonya Anita Steward, to Melvin Dwayne Brown Jr., also both of Suffolk.

Miss Steward is also the daughter of the late John Gilbert Boone.

Mr. Brown is the son of Deborah Ann and Melvin Brown Sr. of Suffolk.

Miss Steward is the maternal granddaughter of Lelear Betty Woodson, and the late Walter &uot;Tea&uot; Woodson.

She is the paternal granddaughter of the late Marjorie and John W. Boone.

Mr. Brown is the maternal grandson of Rosa Brown, and the late Richard T. Brown Jr. He is the paternal grandson of the late Emma and Luther Brown Sr.

The wedding will take place July 17, 2004, in Suffolk.
