What was termed a &uot;major economic development announcement&uot; was to take place at 2 p.m. today in north Suffolk, according to a press release from the Suffolk Industrial Development Authority.

An IDA spokeswoman on Monday declined to give specifics on the announcement.

The announcement, being made jointly by the IDA, Suffolk City Council and Commonwealth of Virginia, will be made at Bridgeway Commerce Park, on the east side of Harbour View Boulevard, south of College Drive. A reception immediately following the announcement will be held at the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center on the Tidewater Community College Campus.
