Lady Saint set up defeat of Norfolk Christian

Parris Grieder set up 33 assists and Lexi Holland and Britney Bishop slammed home nine kills each as Nansemond-Suffolk Academy defeated Norfolk Chritsian 17-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-22 Tuesday. The Lady Saints head to Greenbrier Christian today. Greenbrier got revenge in boys competition, knocking off the Saints in three games on Wednesday.

Nansemond River and Lakeland weren’t as lucky, as Great Bridge defeated the Warriors and Hickory took care of the Cavaliers, both for the second time this week.

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy soccer team saw its season end in the quarterfinals of the TCIS tournament Tuesday, falling 2-0 to Cape Henry.

STA banquet to be held Nov. 8

The Suffolk Tennis Association will be holding its annual tennis banquet on Nov. 8 at the Nansemond River Golf Club. Local champions will be awarded their trophies. Local AAU boys basketball teams holding tryouts

Workout sessions for the Suffolk Blazers 12 and Under AAU basketball team will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. place Oct. 28 and 29 at Oakland Recreation Center, with tryouts scheduled for Nov. 10.
