McDonald’s customer gets more than food

Editor, the News-Herald:

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, somebody got more than a Big Mac at the McDonald’s on Holland Road. About 7 p.m., my son and his friend rode up to McDonald’s on their bikes for ice cream. They parked their bikes outside and went in and ordered. When they came out about three minutes later, much to their surprise my son discovered his bike was stolen.

He was devastated to see something that he had worked all summer for by doing odd jobs, cutting grass and helping people out, and earned the money to pay for his new bike that was so proud of simply taken away in a matter of moments by someone so cruel as to violate a child. I guess my son has now gotten a taste of what the real world is like out there.

If the person who took his bike is reading this, just know that this 12-year-old child will never be the same, and that if you are enjoying the bike you are a sick and cruel person to take something away from an innocent child.
