Staff report

Indian summer is not over, despite yesterday’s breezy weather and brisker-than-usual temperatures.

Winds, which peaked at 40 miles per hour in Suffolk Thursday, are expected to continue throughout this morning, said Jim Gingrich, meteorologist in the National Weather Service’s office in Wakefield. Winds are expected to top out from 15 to 20 miles per hour today, dropping off around noon.
