Thelma R. Moore

Mrs. Thelma Riddick Moore, 80, departed this life on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003. A lifelong resident of Suffolk, she was born on Dec. 25, 1922, as the first child of the late Charlie Riddick and Cora Ballance Riddick.

Mrs. Moore was married to the late William L. Moore for 38 years. Left to cherish her memory is her loving sister, Essie Mae DeLoatch; four nephews, David W. DeLoatch Jr. and his wife, Georgianna of Portsmouth, Charles E. DeLoatch Sr. and Earl H. DeLoatch of Suffolk, Johnny L. DeLoatch Sr. and his wife, Maria, of Forestville, Md.; niece, Sandra J. DeLoatch of Suffolk; 9 great nieces and nephews, 10 great-great nieces and nephews; devoted cousin and friend, Amanda R. Rodgers; compassionate caregiver, Mrs. Nancy Goodman; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Walter E. Riddick and Alphonso Riddick.

The funeral will be held at noon Monday at Crocker Funeral Home, 900 E. Washington St., with the Rev. Melvin R. Boone officiating. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 502 Mahlon Ave., Suffolk.
