Mrs. Ruth Holloway, 80, of 36027 Broadwater Road, Ivor, died Nov. 25, 2003, in Obici hospital. She was a native of Southampton County and was the daughter of the late Hattie Green Bowers and Willie G. Bowers. She was the widower of Elmore Holloway, and a member of New Branch Baptist Church, Ivor, and deaconess.

Her survivors include: a daughter, Donna Holloway, Ivor; two sons, Orlando Arline and Randy Arline, both from Ivor, a grandson, Deandre Holloway; three sisters, Blanche Johns (Melvin) from Surry; Betty Lane from Ivor; and Brenda J. Cross (Vernon) from Franklin; two brothers, Stephen Bowers (Mary) from Surry and Willie Bowers Jr., from Suffolk; one aunt, Edna Jordan from Suffolk; a devoted friend, Catherine Peden from Ivor; five sisters-in-law, three brothers in- law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon on Sunday in New Branch Baptist Church, Ivor by the Rev. Frank A. Aikens. Interment will be held in Gilfield Baptist Church, Ivor.
