Murry Francis Spivey, 79, of 104 Rosewood Dr., Suffolk, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003.

A native of Gates County, N.C., he was a son of the late Joseph Anderson Spivey and Vanlieu Bunch Spivey. He was also predeceased by three brothers, J. Vernon, E. Vance, and J.T. Spivey; and one sister, Verlie Spivey Matthews.

He had retired as a bookkeeper.

He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, the Adult 12 Sunday School Class and was an honorary deacon.

His survivors include a brother, Victor B. Spivey of Colonial Heights, Va. and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jonathan Rissmiller officiating.

Friends may join the family from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Harrell & Hill Funeral Home.
