Alonia B. Hawkins

Alonia &uot;Marie&uot; Burgress Hawkins, 61, of 167 N. Main St., Suffolk, departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003. A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Ossie Simpson, and the widow of Charles Oscar Hawkins Sr.

She was a former employee of Obici Hospital.

She was a member of Tabernacle Christian United Church.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her mother, Panfield Burgess; two daughters, Vanessa Hawkins of Suffolk, and Deborah Hawkins of Williamsburg; a son, Charles O. Hawkins Jr. of Suffolk; a stepson, Tony Hawkins of Hampton; two grandchildren; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, in Tabernacle Christian Church. Interment will be in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery

Viewing takes place from1 to 6 p.m. Dec. 14, in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends other times at Chorey Park, 804 W. Constance Rd. Apt. 213, and 1412 Sierra Drive, Lake Kennedy, from where the procession will leave at noon Dec. 15.
