Syleslie A. Jordan and Larry D. Ricks, both of Suffolk, announce their engagement.

Miss Jordan is the daughter of Mrs. Mary R. Melton of Windsor, and the late Mr. Alphonsia Melton.

Mr. Ricks is the son of Mrs. Catherine Y. Ricks of Suffolk, and the late Rev. James T. Ricks Sr.

Miss Jordan is employed by Humana-Military Healthcare in Portsmouth.

Mr. Ricks is employed by Isle of Wight Forest Products in Smithfield.

The wedding will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, in Olive Branch Baptist Church.

The reception will follow at the Moose Lodge.
