Nellie V. Daughtrey

Mrs. Nellie V. &uot;Aunt Doe&uot; Williams Daughtrey, 78, of 804 W. Constance Road, Suffolk, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at her residence.

She was born in Windsor to the late James Clyde Vines and Mrs. Nellie Briggs Vines. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Alexander Williams, brothers, Johnnie James, Clyde and William Vines, and a sister, Etta Vines Copeland.

She had retired as a dietician and school bus driver for Suffolk Public Schools.

She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and also a member of the Eastern Star Nansemond No. 31.

She is survived by her brother, the Rev. Willie L. Vines (Louise); her special niece, Janice M. Copeland, and special stepdaughter, Lillie M. Smith; stepdaughter, Joyce W. Powell; sister-in-laws, Louise D. Vines and Mamie Vines; nephews, Johnny and Michael Vines; many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and husband, Linwood Daughtrey.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Oak Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Anthony Copeland and Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Peebles Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The body will be taken from Peebles Funeral Home to the church at 11 a.m.
