Delores Brooks, daughter of Bernice Stanley and the late Bill Hoggard, was born on Jan. 19, 1945 in Ahoskie N.C. The Lord called Delores Brooks home for her reward on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, N.Y.

Delores was employed in New York as a counselor with the Bridge Alternative.

She lived in Manhattan, N.Y. for over 40 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Bernice Stanley; one son, Sheldon Jones; two daughters, Sherita Wright and Sherry Jones; a long time special and devoted friend, Robert Lockett; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charlie Brooks; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Brooks; aunt, Mary Smith; special cousin, Mariah Smith; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Holly Lawn Cemetery with T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home in charge.

Viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. Monday.
