James T. Goodman

James Thomas Goodman, 63, of the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in Obici Hospital.

A native of Nansemond County, he was preceded in death by his mother, Ophelia Baker Goodman.

He was a member of Calvary Cross Restoration Ministries and chairman of the Building Fund.

He is survived by his former wife, Claude M. Goodman of Suffolk; three daughters, Minister Janice O. Goodman and Claudia M. Goodman, both of Chesapeake; and Yolanda Goodman Miller (Dwayne) of Norfolk; two sons, James T. Moore of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Jamar T. Goodman (Takeisha) of Richmond; his father, Alvin L. Goodman Sr.; eight sisters, Virginia G. Warren, Marian G. Anderson, Bishop Paige Pringle, and Elder Linda G. Wright, all of Suffolk; Katherine L. Whittington and Evangelist Patricia A. Brown, both of New York; and Evangelist Evelyn G. Brown of Texas; four brothers, Hugh L. Goodman Sr. of New York; Raymond W. Goodman and Alvin L. Goodman Jr., both of Suffolk; and Elder Bobby Goodman Sr. of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Kevin L.G. Richardson and Duane Isaiah Miller; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 5, in Faith Temple Apostolic Church by Vice Bishop David Furguson. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the church, and will be at 1015 Nansemond Parkway, Apt. 403-D.
