Deljanae Gandy, 4, (pictured) and her father, Credell Gandy, dropped by the Suffolk News-Herald on Christmas Eve for an early gift: a $100 gift certificate for Toys R Us. Deljanae, a student at True Gospel Ministries, was the winner of the Suffolk News-Herald’s most recent coloring contest. She is the daughter of Credell and Alfreda Gandy and has one brother, Delvin, 7. Brenda Lewis, 7, (middle) was accompanied by her cousin Tyechia Hedgepeth (left) and mother Torian Lewis, to pick up her prize, a Playstation II, for winning the Suffolk News-Herald’s recent trivia contest.

Lewis, a student at Lindenwood Elementary School in Norfolk, spends a great deal of time at the home of her grandmother, Maggie Holland of 115 Church St.
