Maxine Frank Statkus, 65, of Suffolk, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, in Obici Hospital after an extended illness.

A native of Winona, Minn., she was a daughter of the late Roberta Dildine and John Allen Frank.

Mrs. Statkus was a longtime volunteer for CHKD and Obici Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Statkus; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Judith Tanner of Portsmouth; daughter and son-in-law, Angel and John Carraway of Robersonville, N.C.; stepsons, Joseph and Stacey Statkus of New Hampshire; sisters, Jane Carney of Chesapeake and Mary (Frank) of Winona; brothers, Joel Frank of Washington, and Robert Frank of Winona; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s of the Presentation Catholic Church by Father Lou Ruoff.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory.
