E. Glenn Buck

Elmer Glenn Buck, 77, of 315 Pond Dr., Suffolk, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in Obici Hospital.

A native of Pitt County, N.C., he was a son of the late Walter Buck and Rosa Branch Buck, and was predeceased by two brothers, Norman and Earl Buck; and three sisters, Helen B. Weaver, Leona B. Wright, and Audrey B. Minter.

He had retired as a stock status clerk after 40 years of service with Ford Motor Co. in the Norfolk Assembly Plant.

He was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and was a former deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and a member of the senior Group H.A.C. The Glenn Buck Sunday School Class was named in his honor.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythians.

He was a veteran of WWII, having served in two European campaigns where he earned the combat infantryman badge and Bronze Star medal.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Leigh White Buck; sons and daughters-in-law, David G. and Patricia A. Buck of Ft. Lee, and Dennis R. and Brenda S. Buck of Richmond; four grandchildren, Sarah, Christopher, Rebecca Buck, and Jason Harris; brother Ray Buck of Suffolk and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan 16, in Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Gibson officiating. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Harrell & Hill Funeral Home, and other times at the residence, 315 Pond Dr.
