Rachael A. Dildy

Rachael Mae Artis Dildy, 49, of 84 Stacey Dr., Suffolk, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Obici Hospital.

A native of Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Rachael Artis and Joe Henderson.

She was a laborer for Planters Peanuts.

She attended Norfolk State College.

She was a member and missionary for Faith Temple Holiness Church.

Survivors include her husband, James Herbert Dildy; a daughter, Lakeisha Artis of Suffolk; a son, Pernell Artis of Suffolk; a sister, Anna Artis of Suffolk; five brothers, Joseph Artis of Richmond; William T. Artis and James Henry Artis, both of Suffolk; Larry William Artis of Kentucky; and Willie William Artis of Eastern Shore, Md.; one aunt, Rosa Mae Artis of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; a niece, Teresa Stallings of Suffolk; a nephew, William T. Melton of Windsor; devoted friends, Audrey Thorne, Catherine Skinner and Geraldine Artis, all of Suffolk; and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Faith Temple Holiness Church, by Evangelist Betty M. Knight. Burial will be in Jones Grove Cemetery, Isle of Wight County.

The family will assemble at 84 Stacey Dr. at 11:45 a.m. Saturday for the procession.

The body will be available for viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Friday in Harris Funeral Home.
