Bobby Wood, administrative manager for the Regional Distribution Center in Suffolk and the chairman of the local Golden State Foods Foundation fund drive, visited the center and said the company wants to reach children in the community.

&uot;We are happy that we are able to make this donation because the foundation is trying to concentrate on charities and centers like this that help children,&uot; Wood said. &uot;One of our employees has had a child here in the past and told us about the wonderful experience his family had. The Children’s Center is an excellent facility and the work that they do is worthwhile. We also want to support other local facilities that do good work as the center does.&uot;

Wood also said he hopes that Golden Gate Foods employees will be able to volunteer at the center because he wants employees to know what it takes to run a center.

&uot;That’s where an employee get the biggest rewards, helping on a volunteer basis,&uot; he said.
