Keith Josey (pictured) and Fred Spratley helped Nansemond River rout visiting Great Bridge on Tuesday night (the final score was unreported, but the Warriors held a 75-25 lead early in the fourth quarter). Lakeland also won big Tuesday, beating host Western Branch 68-43. Josh Russell and Eric Ruffin led the way with 14 points apiece. The two Suffolk high schools now make ready for their showdown for the Southeastern District title; the winner of their game Friday at Lakeland will lead the district with one more game to play. In other local action, Norfolk Academy defeated visiting Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 49-37. Adam Gillette led the Saints with 12 points and Kyle Jett had nine. The Saints will host Peninsula Catholic next Tuesday.
