Jessie Brinkley Jr., 56, of 2420 Hosier Road, Suffolk, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in Obici Hospital.

He was a native of Nansemond County.

He was employed by Howmet, and was a member of Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pearl Brinkley and a sister, Joyce Brinkley.

He is survived by two daughters, Angelique Burrell (Terry) of Newport News and Carlette Gray (Thaddeus) of Glen Burnie, Md.; mother, Josephine Brinkley of Suffolk; three sisters, Bettie Hollimon (Clifton), Vonita Haskins (Steve), and Yvonne Franklin, all of Suffolk; two brothers, Kent Brinkley and Anthony Brinkley, both of Suffolk; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 21 in Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. Charles Leavell. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to the church.

The family will receive friends at 5620 Indian Trail, and will meet at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
