Lossie M. Cooper-Lassiter

Lossie Mae Cooper-Lassiter, daughter of the late Willie and Isabel Holly Cooper, was born on May 5, 1924 in Chesapeake. God called her home on Feb. 21, 2004, in Obici Hospital.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie Lassiter Sr. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle United Church of Christ in Suffolk.

She was the mother of four sons; one son, Willie Lassiter Jr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Rufus Lassiter, James E. (Celeste) Lsssiter, and William Lassiter (Rose); four daughters, Florence Harris (Richard), Carolyn Flythe (Hersey), Ella Riddick and Pearlie Henry.

She is survived by one brother, Lesslie Cooper of New York; daughter-in-law, Mae Lassiter; 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from noon-6 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 in Tabernacle Christian Church. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, A repass will be held at the church following the interment.
