Wilson, of the 300 block of York Street, was the son of Ruby Ann Wilson and Alton Hamlin Jr.

Additional details won’t be available until after police complete their investigation, she said.

In the second accident, Shawn Demetrius Ruffin, 23, died from injuries received around 6 a.m. Sunday when the 1989 GMC Jimmy he was riding in collided with a tree at the intersection of Park Road and Bedford Place in Lakeside.

According to George, the vehicle struck a curb, ran off the road at Bedford Place and hit the tree. It landed on its side, coming to rest in a front yard.

Two others are hospitalized with injuries, Travis Lamont Madison, 23, who was driving the car, and Kerry Devon Rountree, 27.

According to police, their vehicle was reported stolen from the 23000 block of Windsor Boulevard.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident and charges are pending, George said.
