Saint swimmers finish 2003-4 season

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy senior Britney Bishop (pictured) completed one of the most illustrious careers in TCIS swimming history with a first-place finish in the 50-freestyle and second in the 100-free in the VSIS swimming and diving championships last weekend at the Midtown Community Center in Newport News. Bishop, who nabbed her second-consecutive TCIS Most Valuable Swimmer award this season, teamed with her sister Jade, Anna Cotton and Danielle Waller to finished fifth in the 200-freestyle relay and eighth in the 200 medley relay at the VSIS meet. Nikki Moore, Kelly Ruland, Maggie Standing, and Tess Smith finished 13th in the 400-free relay, and Cotton took 12th in the 100-breastroke. Michael Miller finished fourth in the 100-freestyle and fifth in the 50-freestyle, and Ryan Hanson nabbed 14th in the 100-backstroke. Joe Lewinski teamed with Miller, Hanson and Brandon Wilder to finish seventh in the 200- and 400-freestyle relays.
