Shawn Ruffin of 317 St. James Ave., Suffolk, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk.

He is survived by his parents, Calvin Hinton Sr. and Sylvia Hinton of Suffolk; two brothers, Calvin Hinton Jr. and Lavon Hinton, both of Suffolk; grandmother, Octavia Ruffin of Suffolk; grandfather, Sylvester Ruffin Sr. of Baltimore, Md.; great-grandmother, Ruth Christine Ruffin; three aunts, Sabrina Frazier (Clemon) of Newport News, Sharon Johnson of Portsmouth, Keymah Yashaahla (Yahmaam Yashaahla) of Norfolk; two uncles, Steve Ruffin and Abraham Mitchell of Suffolk; niece, Keannia Watkin; cousins and other relatives and friends.

The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, in Crocker Funeral Home by Brother Solomon Darden.

There will be no public viewing.
