Dad charged with abusing infant son

Police on Friday charged a Kilby Avenue man with abusing his 2-month-old son, who’s been in the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters since the Feb. 20 incident.

Michael Lamont Boone, 28, of the 400 block of Kilby Avenue, was charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department. Boone turned himself in to police at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Detective John M. Jones said the infant, who received two skull fractures and fractured ribs, is in stable condition.

Boone is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
