Mr. and Mrs. George Walme announce the engagement of their daughter, Regine Walme, of the Bronx, N.Y., to Rudolph E. Edwards Jr. of Suffolk.

Rudolph is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph E. Edwards Sr. of Suffolk.

Regine is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Gracia, who lived in Port Au Prince, Haiti. She is the paternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walme, who also lived in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Rudolph is the maternal grandson of Alsease D. Mayfield of Suffolk, and the late Sylvester H. Mayfield. He is the paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon P. Edwards, who lived in Suffolk.

The bride to be is a student at Norfolk State University, majoring in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on education.

The groom to be is a 2001 graduate of Norfolk State University with a bachelor of arts in history/secondary education.

He is employed with Suffolk Public School as a history teacher.

The wedding is planned for April 10, 2004.
