James &uot;John&uot; Deloatch, 85, of 1400 Blythewood Lane, Suffolk, died Saturday, March 6, 2004.

A native of Hertford County, N.C., he was the son of the late Bessie Deloatch.

He had retired from farm work. He was a member of New Jones Grove Baptist Church, Windsor, where h was usher and one of the oldest active members of the church.

His survivors include several cousins and friends; devoted friend, Mary Berry and the Holland family

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, in New Jones Grove Baptist Church, by the Rev. Alvin Pierce. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Family and friends will assemble at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crocker Funeral Home for the procession to the church.
