Lakeland High School will be holding its Winter Sports Banquet at 7 o’clock tonight in the school cafeteria. Awards for boys and girls basketball, wrestling and indoor track will be handed out.

Suffolk 14U basketball team looking for sponsorship

The Suffolk Blazers girls’ 14U AAU basketball team is seeking sponsorship, new uniforms and other equipment. The team also has other expenses that have to be paid, such as traveling. Anyone interested in helping should call 729-5905 or 651-9564.

Clippers beat Cradock 67-41

Arthur Wellons racked up a pair of double-doubles with 51 points and 21 rebounds as the Lake Kennedy Clippers smashed host Cradock 67-41 and Chesapeake 70-42 Saturday, ending the Clippers’ regular season at 9-2. Teron Bell had 22 points and 10 assists for the Clippers, and Jeffrey Cook was a defensive wall with 10 rebounds and eight steals.
