Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice has seen many new patients since opening the doors to the brand new facility in February. Located at Burnett’s Way, just off Godwin Boulevard, the company is situated near Obici Hospital and most of its medical partners in this community.

Angela Russo, director of business development for Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice, said she is extremely pleased to have a new office in Suffolk.

&uot;There are so many medical facilities, we are thrilled to be here,&uot; said Russo. &uot;With our company’s philosophy of &uot;Sincerus Care,&uot; we care for the needs of people at any point of their illness from home health care or the hospice. Also, being so close to Obici Hospital and part of this community and our medical partners is wonderful.&uot;

Russo added that Heartland offers a full service operation and that they are ready to assist the people of Suffolk.

When Heartland dedicated its new office space, one of the honored guests was Dr. Anthony J. DiStasio II, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma, arthroscopy and joint replacement.

&uot;We opened this building in June 2003, and we have seen additions besides our practice, Sports Medicine Orthopedic Center, the Virginia Oncology Group, the Tidewater Prosthetics and Orthotics Center,&uot; said DiStasio. &uot;Now, with Heartland Home Health, we add a new dimension to what we can do for the patients of Suffolk. We bring a multi-talented group of people here who can cover so many of people’s needs…not only when they are first discharged from the hospital but also throughout the care they need at home.&uot;

Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They offer hospice care, IV therapy, and other specialty treatments and programs.

The agency has a team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, therapists and home health aids.

They also offer live-in health care companions and sleepovers for patients requiring overnight care. Of course, Heartland Home Health is Medicare certified.
