Brenda Gail Boyd, 48, of 818 Nixon Drive., Suffolk, died April 19, 2004 in Suffolk.

She was a native of Greenville, S.C. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alberta Vines, and adoptive parents, Arthur and Ernestine Williams.

She was retired from Nestles as a machine operator. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the AMF Bowling League.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony Boyd; two daughters, Aretha Valentine (Brian) of Chesapeake and Kariva Cross of Suffolk; her father, Kelvin Adams; eight sisters and two brothers; four grandchildren, Brian Valentine, Cierra Valentine, Jalen Johnson, and Jada Johnson; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Thursday in Oak Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Anthony Copeland. Interment will be in the Vines Family Cemetery, Windsor. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
