Virginia B. Clark

Mrs. Virginia B. Clark, 83, of 723 Ashley Ave., Suffolk, died Monday, May 3, 2004, in her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County, and was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Ruby Ballard, and the widower of Walter Clark Sr. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alphonso Clark.

She was a member of Macedonia AME Church where she served as a stewardess.

Remaining to cherish her memory are six daughters, Mrs. Rosa C. Leary (McKinley), Audrey M. Clark, Virginia M. Clark, Mrs. Everlena Flood, Mrs. Brenda E. Bailey (Alexander), and Mrs. Christine C. Mayes (Clarence Sr.), all of Suffolk; nine sons, Richard Clark (Florence), Walter O. Clark Jr. (Shirley), Vernon Clark (Marqarita), Calvin Clark, Reginald Clark (Peggy Ann), Tony C. Clark, all of Suffolk; E. Vincent Clark (Sharon) of Ohio; Jesse C. Clark of Waterbury, Conn.; and Robert L. Clark (Vivian) of New Jersey; one brother, Willie Ballard of Chicago Ill.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8, in Macedonia AME Church by the Rev. Charles Harvin. Interment will be in Carver Cemetery.
