Cpl. Roy L. Grant, 72, of 8033 Gates Road, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest at 2:12 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in Obici Hospital. He was the son of the late Annie Grant Kindred of Boykins, Va.

He was a corporal in the Korean War, a member of Corinth Chapel UCC Church, the American Legion Post 183, Saint Luke Lodge No. 279, and Franklin Star Lodge No 288.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lorraine P. Grant of 49 years, one daughter, Deana Murphy (Eric) of Tobyhanna, Pa.; one granddaughter, Tishay Lewis of Richmond; three brothers-in-law, Alphonsa Britt and Charles Britt of Virginia and Arthur Lawrence (Lois) of Morriston, N.Y.; and three sisters-in-law, Geneva Owens of Miss.; Jean Lawrence of Conyer, Ga.; and Mollie Lawrence of Franklin.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in Corinth Chapel UCC Church by Dr. Millard F. Boone III. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Peebles Funeral Home in charge.
