Amy M. Butler and Kevin J. Amon, both of Virginia Beach, were married Saturday, April 17, 2004, in Cypress Chapel Congregational Christian Church by the Rev. Allan Blakney.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry M. Butler of Suffolk.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Amon of Irmo, S.C.

The bride is the maternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abernathy, and the late Mr. James H. Boyette Jr. She is the paternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cola M. Butler.

The groom is the maternal grandson of Mrs. Anna Broadway, and the late Mr. David Broadway.

He is the paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rochus Amon.

Melissa Shepherd, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Butler, sister of the bride, and Sarah Case, cousin of the bride.

Gary Amon, brother of the groom, was the best man.

Groomsmen were Nathan Grant and William Shearin, both friends of the groom.

Ashlyn Pippin was the flower girl.

Logan Shearin was the ringbearer.

Mrs. Bettye Umphlette was the mistress of ceremonies.

For the reception, a dinner was held at the Cypress Community House.
