Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moyer of Greensboro, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Georgia Carolyn Moyer, to John Arthur Davis, both living in Raleigh, N.C.

John is a former resident of Suffolk where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Davis, reside.

Miss Moyer is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Markin, and paternal granddaughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Moyer, and the late Mr. John Moyer.

Mr. Davis is the maternal grandson of Mrs. Alvin M. McBride Sr. of Suffolk, and the late Mr. Alvin M. McBride Sr., and the paternal grandson of the late Mr. Arthur Davis and Mrs. Clarence Hamilton.

Miss Moyer is a graduate of Western Guilford High School, Greensboro, and Meredith College, Raleigh. She is employed by IBM. Mr. Davis is a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Elon College, Elon, N.C. He is employed by Fidelity Bank of Raleigh.

The wedding will take place Saturday, July 24, 2004, in Elon College Community Church.
