King’s Kids of America Inc. is inviting the public to attend a special event at Faith Temple Christian Center as the youth organization seeks to fund projects and events for the year.

Suffolk Mayor E. Dana Dickens III and Councilman Leroy Bennett will be the featured guests at the event, with Bennett also serving as the master of ceremonies.

The reception is set for 2 to 4 p.m. June 5 in Faith Temple, 623 Brook Ave.

Betty Milteer Knight, the executive director of King’s Kids, said she would like to encourage everyone who possibly can to support the organization, no matter how small an amount is donated.

&uot;Our sponsorships begin at $100 and go to $499 for a bronze sponsor, and silver sponsors contribute from $500 to $999,&uot; said Knight.

&uot;We offer a gold sponsorship for $1,000 up to $4,999, and diamond sponsors contribute $5,000 or more. We are grateful for all contributors, and every dime is tax deductible.&uot;

King’s Kids is a volunteer, non-profit community outreach project for all youth, regardless of race, color, creed, or church denomination.

Knight said the project teaches youths to make wholesome decisions on their own at an expected level that will be beneficial to their well being and to those around them.

The project involves children ages 4 through 15 about the spirit, mind and body, and also how to be emotionally, socially and financially sound and to be a positive asset to the community.

Some of the activities and projects this fundraiser supports include community service projects, field trips, group programs and events, picnics, sports and social events, teaching and training sessions.
