The treasurer of the Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, Barbara Rayburn, said anyone who has ever had a package left at the wrong address because the delivery person was unable to find their home can certainly understand the frustration squad volunteers go through everyday.

&uot;Think of those precious minutes that could be saved during an emergency if your address was properly marked,&uot; said Rayburn. &uot;Yes, you have numbers on the mailbox or post, but are they reflective for ease in finding you at night?&uot;

In an effort to alleviate some of the lost time in searching for homes, the Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad will be at Liberty Spring Christian Church, 4213 Whaleyville Blvd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5, making and selling their &uot;Make Your Address Easily Identifiable&uot; reflective signs. These signs will be made on the spot, so orders will be filled while you wait.

The cost of the curbside mailbox sign – blue with white three inch reflective numbers on both sides is $15. The house sign, blue with white three inch reflective numbers on one side is $10.

To order a sign, call the Squad at 757-539-6870. Rayburn said those who place orders will be called when the sign is ready for you to pickup. Payment may be made when signs are picked up. You may also stop by the Squad on Market Street to place an order and pay for it there.
