Geraldine Riddick

Geraldine Riddick, 55, of Norfolk, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Sentara Leigh Hospital, Virginia Beach.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1949, in Nansemond County. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Helena Riddick.

Ms. Riddick graduated from the former John F. Kennedy High School in 1968 and continued to further her education.

She worked for the federal government in the National Endowment for the Arts Department for 14 years. Her career was in the field of computer programming in Washington, D.C., where she held the position as a supervisor.

She was reared in Paul’s Temple, but later became a member of Calvary Revival.

Survivors include four brothers, Walter Riddick of New Orleans, La.; Edward Riddick of Richmond; Floyd and Alphonzo Riddick, both of Suffolk; four sisters, Voyka Diggs of New York; Sandra Weaver (Anthony Sr.) of Chesapeake; Lindell Copeland (Michael) and Vivian Copeland, both of Portsmouth; one uncle, Scott Mills (Nancy) of Suffolk; two aunts, Lucille Martin of New Jersey and Maude Mills of Philadelphia; a dear friend, Gertrude Golden; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the New Paul’s Temple Church on Factory Street, where the pastor is C.B. Skinner, and W.E. Golden, assistant pastor. The funeral will be officiated by Elder G. Armstrong-Golden and Pastor Skinner will be giving the eulogy. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery with Crocker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at 801 Whitemarsh Road, Suffolk, in the home of Floyd Riddick.
