Richard D. Moore

Richard Daniel &uot;Dick&uot; Moore, 78, of Suffolk, was born into eternal life Wednesday, June 9, 2004.

A retired owner of a trolling motor service center and independent truck driver, he was an avid fisherman, and believer in community involvement and support as a former chief and fireman of the Campbell, New York Volunteer Fire Department, president of the little league, and contributor to the Methodist Church.

He loved traveling, history, woodworking. storytelling, and his family.

His loved ones recently presented him with his World War II medals on Memorial Day weekend, and in September 2003 celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite E. &uot;Marge&uot; Moore, sister, Betty Pettigrass of Auburn, N.Y., two children, Sam Moore of Yorktown, and Charlie Leon of Suffolk; daughter-in-law, Chris Moore; son-in-law, Chuck Leon; two grandchildren, Michelle and Mike Moore; one nephew, Ted (Lesia) Pettigrass and one niece, Doreen (Richard) Janis. He will be missed tremendously and loved forever – Moore.

Services will be private.

Family and friends will be welcomed at the home from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26.
